Finders Keepers is a stunning new work. The dancers have been rehearsing this week at the Dance Wanaka Studio, and we were able to see a sneak preview of this newly commissioned work by Raewyn Hill. It is a beautiful piece of work, based on caged songbirds in Hong Kong, and a must see on opening night Tuesday 28 April at the Lake Wanaka Centre at 7pm. If you miss it in Wanaka then check it out in Clyde on Thursday 30 April. |

Haydn’s 7 Last Words from the Cross performed by the New Zealand String Quartet is a multi media experience with Haydn’s beautiful music, poetry by Dinah Hawken and specially commissioned lithographs by Nigel Brown projected on the screen so it’s not just a ‘sit back and listen’ classical music concert. Try it and surprise yourself. |

With Anzac Day tomorrow, the timing of Strange Resting Places is very apt. This wonderful play is about a Maori battalion in the second world war. The play is touring round the region starting in the Wanaka Masonic Lodge. It opens with the actors giving wine and bread to the audience and is a delightful piece of theatre. |
This is just a taster of what is still available, and don’t forget our Aspiring Conversations programme with the newly announced talks by Jim Bolger and George Fergusson on Saturday 2 May.
Box office
From Monday the box office in the Lake Wanaka Centre will be open from 10am until 7pm. If you have ordered tickets and haven’t collected them yet, then please try and head down to the iSITE log cabin over the weekend as the box office will start to get very busy next week. Any pre ordered tickets that haven’t been collected will be moved to the Lake Wanaka Centre on Monday.
Be inspired … Be astounded … Be in Wanaka … Be there.
